Summarize

Using a Description Chart record information from Grasshoppers and Crickets.  Use the information in the chart to write a summary.

Think and Compare

1.  Reread pages 16-17.  Then describe the life cycle of a grasshopper.  Tell how it goes from an egg to an adult?

2.  Tell how you will be able to identify a cricket or a grasshopper the next time you see one?  What will you look for?

3.  Why do you think some scientists enjoy studying insects?  What sorts of things do scientists investigate about them?

A Day in the Life

Pretend you are a grasshopper at sunset.  Write a page in your jounral explaining that day's adventures.  Be sure to write about all the dangers you faced and how you overcame them.
