Using an Author's Purpose Map record clues from Miki and the North Wind.  Then use the information on your Map to tell what purpose the author had for writing this week's story.

1. Skim page 4, how did Miki feel about the North Wind?  How did his feelings change by the end of the story and why?

2. Think about a time when you did something that made you feel proud or maybe brave.  What was it that you did?

3. What would have happened to Miki if the North Wind hadn't help him out?  Do you think people help other people in real life?

What gift would you like the North Wind to give to you and why?  Draw pictures showing the North Wind presenting you with your gift.  Use captions to tell what is happening.  Use speech bubbles to show what your characters are saying.
