Summarize

Using the illustrations and photographs in An Eye of Energy to persuade people that new energy sources are needed.  Then write a summary about what you have learned about energy.

Think and Compare

1. Skim page 11.  How might you persuade someone you know that solar panels are a good way to make energy?

2. What kinds of things can you, your friends, and your family do to help preserve our present energy sources?

3. What do you think would happen if our energy resources begin to run out?

Write Persuasively

Write a letter to the local editor of the newspaper.  Tell why you think it's important to save coal, oil, and gas.  In your letter to the editor, try to persuade the readers that your community should try to use new sources of energy.
